Hogenakal

After a good movie on Saturday, on my way back I got my bike checked for Sunday. I along with some of my friends had planned a trip to hogenakal falls in TN.

Sunday morning I got up by 7 in the morning. All thanks to Adi. We were supposed to meet at the forum mall in Kormangala by 8 am. I got ready, had my breakfast was there by 7.58(before timeJ) and found only Adi there. Waited for sometime, Varun was next to come and soon Ajith also came. Btw when we were waiting there, Adi was so interested in the dogs which were there and also where they were shitting.  Anyways we left by 8.20. It took us sometime to cross Bangalore city. The electronic city area was bad, not very good roads as some road construction was going on and on top of that it had rained last night and was drizzling that time, so all slush around. Our bikes and shoes had them all over. But as soon as we got out of city limits, the roads were WOW. Especially after Hosur, you just rip n rip and rip. Varun was like a cool dude all the way, not ripping too hard but still enjoying the roads to their best! A little time before our first stop when Ajith was leading a lady was crossing the road, she saw Ajith coming at some 120kmph and stopped but all of a sudden something came to her mind and she started running to cross the road, he was so close to bang into her and I was also very close to Ajith with almost the same speed, but a little on his left. So when he slowed down I was not going to bang into him in any case but if he misses the lady than for sure I will bang into her. His bike skidded some distance and so did mine and we stopped so close to that lady. Somehow we managed to avoid that collision. Finally we reached A2B, stopped there to take a break and grab something to eat. But the place was packed and there was no place to sit. And the roads were so tempting that we decided to give up on food and hit the roads. But before that we had a little photo sessions with our bikes, also capturing the slush on it which had dried by that time.

From there we were to go till Dharmapuri and from there take 2 right which will head us directly to our destination. The road was smooth, the bike was zooming and we were enjoying every bit of it. After we took right from D we guys thought that the roads will be a little rough but to our surprise they were really good. Usually you don’t find this good roads in village areas. They were so good that on those roads also we were zooming on 90-1000kmph. And since they were through villages and farms there were many awesome curves which any biker will like to hug. A small stop in between and we were at our destination by 11.30.

We parked our bikes and reached the river side, now to see the whole area u really need to take a boat, so we all decided we will. After bargaining a lot or rather say after trying a lot to bargain we hopped onto the boat. The boats were also funny, it’s only this side of the country that I have seen boats like these. We all were really scared when Adi was about to get onto the boat, what if it sinks??? But we decided to risk and got onto the boat with Adi. A little ahead the boat guy got off to buy some ticket and that time Ajith was given the job of taking care of the boat, and he did it pretty well, along side entertaining us with his poses for the pics.

The boat ride was smoothing. The river was calm at that place. We saw some small water falls, we also did ‘boat sanan’ as it was said by the boat guy in which he took us below the waterfall. Than at one place he asked us to get off the boat and start walking, and we had to walk a lot. I really mean a lot and that also through small streams. But it was worth the fun. At few places there was no stone to step on and cross so Adi decided to soak his shoes and get into the stream while Ajith and I were trying our best not to get into the stream and look for an alternative. Varun on the other hand was confused whether to join Adi or us and at some places he struggled also. After a lot of walking we came close to the main falls. Now to get there again you had to cross little streams, this time I saw no alternatve and me also soaked my shoes into water and so did Varun. But Ajith was our hero, he still looked for stones far away and was hopping from one onto another till at one point he fell into water and landed up with wet feet. Reached near the falls, Adi and Varun being tired gave up some way before the edge and sat there while me and Ajith went close to the edge and clicked some photos.

After chilling for a while there we headed back, now the boat guy took us through a very more calm river. After walking so much this ride was really worth going for. We cracked jokes, talked and had a nice time.

After reaching back to where we started we started hunting for some place to eat as we were very hungry. We knew we won’t find a very good place. Found a place called C.M. hotel. But to my bad luck they had only South Indian meals. To be honest I don’t like this type of meals a lot. But when you hungry anything and everything goes. So we all ordered for meals. Now to add to it they had no spoons. Damn, I can’t eat rice with hands. Have had like that a few times in the past but its tough. But hunger made me have, I somehow struggled and was eating and others were having a nice laugh on the way I was eating. For my good luck those guys did not take a photo of me while eating. After a full stomach and in lazy mood it was time to hit the roads again and set back to Bangalore. This time we did not rip so hard but were just crusing on 100-110kmph. Stopped by at A2B again, hydrated ourselves with some drinks a little food, settled our accounts and back on our babes. It was starting to get a little dark now. We were expecting a huge traffic when we hit Bangalore but it was less. So it did not take us long to reach silk board where we all parted and took different ways to our respective homes.

Of all the bike trips I have been to I will rate this one my third best after Lonaval-Khandala and Bilikal Rangaswamy Betta trips. And about roads, the second best I have ripped my bike on, after Mumbai-Pune expressway. To end with I will say I said a fun time, and may be last fun time before I start studying for my coming exams which are very close. Its time to stop punching keys and pick up my books. Adios.
